Dear Amanda,
Please accept my apology for not having responded to your post about
Mark's scan, etc, before now, but I have not been on the N.R.A.S. site for
a few days and have only just read about what you have both been going through!
I feel so badly about it, because you have "been there" for me many times.
I have read all the posts now and can agree with what others have said that the person who
did Mark's tests should not have said anything and have let the Doctor explain the results
thoroughly!
(To be honest with you, I am guilty of always asking the technician if any X rays etc. "look
O.K",but to their credit, they hardly ever say anything back.)
I had not realized that Mark was experiencing health problems and will pray that he gets
better quickly and has the very best medical advice and care.
I know that this is easy for me to say but please, please, try not to worry too much.
I say this because in my experience, worrying can make R.A worse.
I am sending warm thoughts to you and Mark.
With much love,
Fiona

Hi Amanda
So sorry to hear about your hubby, you both must have been so worried. I do not know oif this helps but
my husband, who is now 37 was d iagnosed with this when he was in very early 20's. He was put on a very restrictive diet
for a long time, which certainly brought the problem under control. He now just looks after himself a little more and
when he begins to feel ill again goes back on the diet again.
His problem was caused by predispostion and far to much alchol when far to young just took it one step to much.
I hope that when they get his drugs sorted he will get better very quickly.

Hi,

Thank you for your kind replies.

Fiona, you never have to apologise!

Once we hear from the Dr that the scan report is through we will know more. It just seems a shame as the thryroxine won't do it's proper job until the liver problem is brought under control.

Love,
Amanda

Hi Amanda

I have only just caught up with this thread and was so sorry to hear of the worry you have had. The technician was wrong to do what she did as she must know how our minds go into overdrive with things like this. Barry had to have an ultrasound of his liver after irregular blood tests. I'm not 100% sure but I think he was diagnosed with something called an aggrevated liver. He's on statins now so obviously cholesterol and too much fat in the system can cause these type of problems.

I hope you get a full explanation soon from someone who is actually qualified and knows what they are talking about.

Much love to you all.

Brenda
